Ronald McDonald House Charities are delighted to announce television presenter Rosanna Mangiarelli will be South Australia’s ambassador in 2010 for McHappy Day. This is the second year in a row that Rosanna has donated her time for the role.

Rosanna will be joining other South Australian celebrities by helping out in McDonald’s restaurants on McHappy Day, 13 November 2010.

McHappy Day this year aims to raise a record $2.8 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), bringing hope and happiness to seriously ill children and their families across Australia.

McHappy Day is one of RMHC’s major fundraising events, with funds raised going towards the many programs run by the charity.

These programs include Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide, which provides a home-away-from-home for seriously ill children and their families living outside of Adelaide, whilst having hospital treatment. A new House is currently under construction in Adelaide, which will increase accommodation capacity from 10 to 20 families and go a long way towards meeting the growing demand for their services.

The host of Channel Seven’s leading public affairs program, Today Tonight, said she was delighted to be able to act as Ambassador again for this year’s McHappy Day.

“Being involved with McHappy Day last year was lots of fun, and it was a great opportunity to see firsthand the important work that Ronald McDonald House Charities do,” Rosanna explains.

“McHappy Day is an important date on the calendar for Ronald McDonald House Charities. They are a wonderful organisation that works to help sick children and their families lead happier, healthier lives. I am thrilled to be able to help out, in whatever way I can, to support the fundraising event.”

Fundraising for McHappy Day 2010 has officially kicked off via the website www.mchappyday.com.au, and on McHappy Day November 13 donations will be collected at more than 800 McDonald’s restaurants across Australia.
