Australian golf legend Greg Norman will visit South Australia later this month to check construction progress of the golf course he is designing at The Dunes Port Hughes.

The former world number one will drop in to the beachside town on Sunday, November 28 to walk the course and inspect the newly laid tees, greens and fairways of the first nine holes, which are on track to be completed this summer in time for an anticipated autumn opening.

The 18-hole links-style layout will be Norman’s first in SA and is the centrepiece of The Dunes Port Hughes residential and resort development on the Yorke Peninsula.

Chief Executive Officer of The Dunes Port Hughes Andrew Martin expects Norman’s visit will attract plenty of onlookers.

“It’s not every day that someone of Greg Norman’s calibre visits Port Hughes so naturally we’re excited to roll out the welcome mat and show him the tremendous progress that has been made with the course since he was last here in June,” he said.

Norman’s visit to SA will precede his appearance at this year’s 2010 Australian Open in Sydney in early December.
