Growing South Australia law firm, Kain Corporate and Commercial Lawyers (Kain C+C) has appointed Adam Cooper (Coops) to its corporate team.
He brings with him over 20 years’ experience as a senior corporate lawyer within the funds management and financial services sectors.
Most recently, he was General Counsel and Company Secretary at Lifeplan, providing advice to the board and management on legal and governance issues and played a key role in Lifeplan’s recent merger with Australian Unity.
Adam is currently the Deputy Chair of the Law Council of Australia’s Financial Services Committee.
Adam will work closely with the head of the corporate team, John Kain, while also adding depth to the firm’s merger & acquisition credentials.
“Kain C+C is a respected firm with a growing reputation, not only for providing excellent commercial outcomes for clients but for their culture and the way they do business,” he said.
“It’s these factors combined that attracted me and are attracting an increasing number of clients to the firm.”
Kain C+C specialises in Corporate, Commercial and Mergers & Acquisitions law.
The firm has developed dedicated teams to service clients at both the front end (advice and transactions) and back end (disputes).
Kain C+C was founded in 2004 by John Kain and has grown from one person to a team of 26 in less than six years.
The firm has built and retained a strong base of small to medium sized business clients. This valued client base is now increasingly complemented by listed and unlisted corporate clients and institutional clients seeking a boutique alternative to the ‘big firms’.
Kain C+C’s philosophy and approach to its work and to the community is paying dividends.
The firm shares risk with clients through flexibility and choice in costing arrangements, guarantees its service levels and shares the financial success with its team and the community through a number of pro bono and charitable initiatives.
Kain C+C is currently planning its second trip to Uganda, where in partnership with local clients and business associates its plans to build another home for local orphans.
The trip is one of a number of the initiatives promoted by the Kain C+C Charitable Foundation.
