Whittles Completes Teys Acquisition

March 5 2010

Body corporate management company Whittles has completed its $7 million acquisition of TEYS Strata Management’s assets, taking the company into Victoria and New South Wales and significantly expanding its presence in Queensland.

The acquisition has created the second largest body corporate management business in Australia with 50,000 lots under management and employing more than 100 people.

Whittles has completed settlement and now own the TEYS offices in Melbourne, Gold Coast, Cleveland, Bayswater, Noosa and Albury.

Both company names will be retained for the time being but knowledge and ideas shared immediately to enhance and improve all aspects of their operation.

Whittles General Manager, Mr Matthew Amber said; “Expanding into new markets is an exciting move for Whittles and will deliver significant benefits to clients, employees and business partners.”

“Whittles has been operating successfully for over 40 years and our focus has always been on manageable, sustainable growth. This approach has served us well.”

“The TEYS acquisition represents a natural fit with our already strong body corporate business.

“We’re committed to capitalising on the synergies between Whittles and TEYS and investing in our people, systems and services. The first priority will be to ensure TEYS clients are provided with the highest standards of service and advice.”

“Our job is made easier by the fact that we’ve not only acquired some excellent businesses but also some outstanding people.

“The plan is to deliver clients even greater value by adding the expertise that we’ve acquired over the last four decades.

“Whittles has a demonstrated ability to work successfully for clients with varying properties and requirements including investors, owner-occupiers, tenants and developers.”

Prior to the acquisition of the TEYS Strata Management offices, Whittles already operated in three state and territories with offices in Adelaide, Darwin, Alice Springs and Maroochydore.

The company will now operate 11 offices in five states and territories with a view to further expansion into new markets when the opportunity arises.
