The 2011 IKEA catalogue, which will be delivered to over 420,000 homes in the Adelaide metropolitan area over the next week (from 28 August 2010), showcases some of the 1680 new products now available in the store.
The new products coupled with even lower prices on 3075 products in the store are designed to inspire and provide even more value, choice and diversity.
New products being introduced this year include KIVIK sofa bed, which adjusts its form to fit the user, STUVA – a modular storage system for kids that grows with them and BRIMNES – functional bedroom furniture with storage in every piece.
IKEA Adelaide Store Manager Agneta Simon said, “This year’s catalogue is all about finding what home means to you, and providing endless ways for you to express your personal style.”
“As you flick through the catalogue, you’ll find plenty of ideas and inspiration to help furnish as well as store and organise all the things that matter most in your home.”
“IKEA has introduced even more variety to allow people to express their own personality in their homes.”
The free 376 page catalogue, which features over 2,500 products is also available online and for the first time as an iPhone app to make it more accessible.
For the bedroom, one of the new product highlights is the BRIMNES range, which has been designed to address the demands for smart storage solutions, particularly for those living in small spaces.
This series of functional bedroom furniture with storage in every piece includes a bed frame with generous draws and a headboard with room for books and magazines. The range’s wall cabinets function as both shelves and side tables.
For the living room, IKEA has introduced the KIVIK series, which includes a chaise lounge, three-seat sofa bed and footstool with storage. Designed by Ola Wihlborg, the KIVIK has numerous combination possibilities and KIVIK seat cushions come with a top layer of foam that follows the exact contours of the body.
In the kitchen, IKEA has launched a new cooking accessory called STABIL, to help cooks use their pots and pans in a much smarter way. STABIL has been designed to save energy and space and streamline cooking techniques.
For the kids, IKEA is launching STUVA – a smart storage system that can be adapted to their needs and personalised to suit individual tastes. The system is suitable for kids of all ages.
“The IKEA catalogue is a valuable resource that helps you to plan your visit to the store. Visiting the store provides further inspiration and tips and ideas with 51 room sets on display,” said Agneta.
“No matter how you live, if you are a family with or without children, or if you are a university student, you will find a product to suit your lifestyle and taste.”
“Our aim is to give people the ability to create the home they love and help them Love Where They Live.”
The new catalogue will start to be delivered to Adelaide homes from late August as part of a global distribution that will reach over 400 million people in 41 countries.
To celebrate the launch of the new catalogue, IKEA is also raising funds for HeartKids SA, a charity that supports families who have a child born with a heart condition or who develop a heart condition during childhood.
