Dr. Angela Pierce Appointed ADASA President

Respected dental surgeon Dr. Angela Pierce has been appointed President of the Australian Dental Association SA Branch (ADASA) for 2011.

Currently working in private practice, Dr. Pierce is also a visiting Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide’s School of Dentistry, and a member of the South Australian Health Practitioners Tribunal.

Dr. Pierce gained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide before entering private practice.

After completing a Master’s degree, she then headed to Sweden where she obtained her Doctor of Odontology (PhD) at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm.

Following her return to Australia in 1990, she worked at the University of Adelaide, where she became Head of Oral Pathology, Associate Dean, and Deputy-Convenor of the University’s Academic Board. She is also a Past-President of the SA Women Dentists Association.  

Dr. Pierce is the 83rd President of the ADASA.

The association was formed in 1928 as the State branch of Australian Dental Association Inc - a national association of dentists committed to promoting the art, science and ethical practice of dentistry, improving the oral health of the community and enhancing the professional lives of its members.

Membership of the Association is voluntary but represents more than 90 percent of dentists in Australia as members.
