Luxury apartment living has found a new home in the highly sought after suburb of Gilberton with 45 Park Gilberton, a $180 million development, receiving approval from the City of Walkerville council last night.
More than 200 premium quality apartments will be constructed on the Park Terrace site, which runs alongside the River Torrens Linear Park.
45 Park Gilberton will provide residents with easy access to the Botanic Gardens, local schools, CBD and the cafe strips of North Adelaide.
At its heart will feature Adelaide’s first communal garden within an apartment development, which will offer residents and their guest’s exclusive access to nearly 6000 square metres of fully maintained resort style landscaped gardens.
Communal gardens are well established in the prestigious suburbs of European cities like London and Oxford with residents enjoying their own outdoor space without the maintenance.
The gardens, which will be an equivalent size to 24 tennis courts and will provide direct access to the Linear Park for walkers and cyclists will incorporate tree lined walkways, courtyards, an expansive lawn area for picnics, outdoor cinema, pool and gym facilities.
Watersun Pty Ltd Project Director, Mr. Garry Garside said the approval of 45 Park Gilberton is a big step forward towards meeting the challenge of accommodating more people close to the city and existing amenities.
“Its proximity to the CBD on a transit corridor means that many residents are likely to choose to walk or cycle along the Linear Path or take public transport into the city, which is consistent with the intent of Adelaide’s 30-year plan.
“We thank Walkerville Council for their professionalism and diligence in assessing and approving the application.
“We’re looking forward to bringing 45 Park Gilberton to the market later this year and have already received strong interest from potential buyers attracted by its location and the quality of the project.”
45 Park Gilberton has been designed to incorporate three medium rise apartment buildings with heights scaled between six and ten storeys.
Each building has been designed with its own unique characteristics to offer a range of options from one bedroom garden front apartments to penthouses with sweeping views over the Botanic Gardens and CBD. The completed project will feature 217 apartments.
The project will be underpinned by a commitment to sustainable development with plans to achieve a 7 star NatHERS energy rating.
During construction, the project is expected to create in excess of 300 jobs in planning, design, building and landscaping.
“45 Park Gilberton is set to become a landmark residential community which will help shape future living options in Adelaide”, said 45 Park Sales Director Rick Harcourt.
“We look forward to bringing the project to market later this year and encourage any interested buyers to register their details through the 45 Park Gilberton website. People who pre-register will get the first chance to buy into 45 Park Gilberton.”
