Come Together for Marketing Week 2011

26 July 2011

The words of the famous Beatles 1969 track 'Come Together' still ring true. When we collaborate and work together, we can achieve amazing things.

Collaborating and uniting to realise a common goal is at the heart of what most marketers do each day.

So it makes great sense to 'come together' and explore this theme at Marketing Week 2011 which will be held in Adelaide 22-26 August.

Registrations are now open at www.marketingweek.com.au, where the program has been revealed today.

Keynote presenters include creativity and innovation psychologist Dr Amantha Imber, Tourism Australia’s Nick Baker discussing on the ‘Oprah effect’, George Patterson/Y&R’s Chief Strategy Officer Jon Steel, along with News Limited Chairman and Chief Executive John Hartigan, the Community Crew’s Laurel Papworth and Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes sharing their views of the importance of true collaboration.

Marketing Week Committee Chairman Michael Ewer said that the theme was of great relevance and encouraged all marketers to ‘come together’ and attend.

“Marketing Week has traditionally brought together some of the sharpest marketing and communications minds in the country, so our conference focuses on just that, bringing it all together,” Michael said.

“We’re bringing together people who have some fantastic stories to tell. We bring hundreds of marketing practitioners together as delegates to hear how recent trends in the marketing discipline can help us all.

“The life of a marketer can be about consolidating from a range of areas to ensure a consistent message. This year’s Marketing Week presenters will share a range of ideas with delegates to help them bring all of their great strategies together.”

Other program highlights include a panel of local and national creative gurus discussing the role that the client plays in delivering a great campaign; Droga5’s Sudeep Gohil and DDB Sydney’s Russ Mitchinson presenting on ‘the elephant in the room’, the case for more strategic planning; Self-confessed digital media ‘nerd’ and Lord Mayor of Adelaide Stephen Yarwood will talk about his use of new media in his recent Lord Mayoral election campaign.
