Ronald McDonald House Charities is delighted to announce Channel 10 newsreader Rebecca Morse and Triple M radio presenter Warren Tredrea have joined forces to be South Australia’s ambassadors for McHappy Day 2011 (Saturday 12th November).
2011 is a special year for McHappy Day as it marks its 20th anniversary by aiming to crack the $3 million fundraising target for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
Rebecca and Warren will be joining other celebrities to bring hope and happiness to seriously ill children and their families across Australia by helping out in McDonald’s restaurants on McHappy Day.
McHappy Day is one of RMHC’s major fundraising events, with funds raised going towards the many programs run by the charity.
These programs include Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide, which provides a home-away-from-home for seriously ill children and their families living outside of Adelaide, whilst having hospital treatment.
A new House has recently been completed in Adelaide, doubling the capacity, and providing much needed accommodation and support to up to 20 families every night.
Channel 10 newsreader Rebecca Morse, who is on maternity leave until late December after giving birth to her third child in August, said she was delighted to act as Ambassador for this year’s McHappy Day.
“Having the opportunity to visit the House in the last couple of weeks was inspiring, and a great opportunity to see firsthand the important work that Ronald McDonald House Charities does,” said Rebecca.
“McHappy Day provides much needed funds to the House, and I’m looking forward to being involved by helping out behind the counter at McDonald’s on November 12.”
Triple M Breakfast Radio Presenter Warren Tredrea said McHappy Day is an important date on the calendar for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“They are a wonderful organisation that works to help sick children and their families lead happier, healthier lives. I am thrilled to be able to help out, in whatever way I can, to support the fundraising event, said Warren.
