Belinda Heggen and Mark Aiston team up to help raise funds for seriously ill children on McHappy Day 2012

9 November 2012

Ronald McDonald House Charities is pleased to announce that FIVEaa radio personality Belinda Heggen and Channel 10 sports presenter and MIX 102.3 breakfast host Mark Aiston have teamed up as South Australia’s ambassadors for McHappy Day 2012.

Mark and Belinda will be joining other celebrities across Australia by helping out in McDonald’s restaurants on McHappy Day on Saturday 10 November.

In 2012, McHappy Day is aiming to reach its biggest ever fundraising target of $3.66 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to bring hope and happiness to seriously ill children and their families across Australia.

McHappy Day is one of RMHC’s major fundraising events, with funds raised going towards the many programs run by the charity.

The 13 Ronald McDonald Houses across Australia, including Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide, have provided more than 85,000 families with a home-away-from-home while their child undergoes treatment for a serious illness at a nearby hospital.

Since the first McHappy Day, the Australian community has helped raise over $20 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

FIVEaa Afternoons Presenter Belinda Heggen said that she was looking forward to helping out on McHappy Day and supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“I recently toured Ronald McDonald House Adelaide and saw firsthand the role that this important organisation plays in supporting seriously ill children and their families when they need it most. I’m thrilled to be able to help out behind the counter at McDonald’s on November 10.” Channel 10 Sports Presenter and MIX 102.3 Breakfast Host Mark Aiston said McHappy Day was an important date on the calendar for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“Ronald McDonald House Charities is a terrific organisation that provides support, hope and happiness to sick children and their families. I’m pleased to be able to help support this important fundraising event on McHappy Day 2012.”
