Engagement Australia produces an annual journal entitled 'Transform' which Hughes was tasked with redesigning. The design challenge was to reflect the information in a scholarly and premium style that would elevate the institutions and excite the reader.

The redesign resulted in a very large increase in membership and participation from universities across Australia. Hughes continues to design the journals annually.

The Journal design has since won an international design award.
