Coles to open largest store in the state in Churchill Centre
Coles will unveil its biggest store in South Australia later this month in the Churchill Centre development, employing more than 120 staff.
Opening to the public on Wednesday 28 May, the new 5,500sqm store, which will be located on Churchill Road, will be the first Coles large format superstore in the State.
The Coles Churchill Centre store will provide a further boost to the local economy by employing 120 people, just one month after more than 100 jobs were created with the opening of a new Coles store at Gawler Green. Around 60 of the team members at Churchill will be new to Coles while the remainder are existing Coles team members who have moved from other SA stores.
Coles Churchill Centre will continue to support South Australian food producers with more than 800 home-grown lines available at the new store, including some of the state’s best-loved brands like Bickford’s, SADA Fresh, Robern Menz, Beerenberg and new Coles supplier, Chocolate Chat.
The Churchill Centre store will have the largest non-food range of all Coles’ stores in South Australia.
The Coles superstore concept offers local customers an enhanced shopping experience with an expanded product range of fresh food and dedicated areas of kitchenware, homewares, baby products, pet food and clothing.
Coles Churchill Centre Store Manager Barry Morris said that Coles were excited to open South Australia’s first superstore in the Churchill Centre.
“We are looking forward to bringing a brilliant new shopping destination to the emerging inner north-western suburbs of Adelaide,” Barry said.
“The new superstore, which is ideally located on busy Churchill Road, will offer an extensive product range for genuine one-stop shopping convenience.
“The new store will include our popular clothing range, Mix, which is known for its range of quality basics and on-trend pieces, a health and beauty department, an expanded range of baby products and a dedicated area for food and treats for pets.
“The new store will also feature an abundance of fresh food offerings including a larger deli area with a specialty cheese section, gourmet products and a self-service olive bar."
“An open bakery where professional bakers will prepare delicious breads and cakes is another impressive feature, while an open preparation meat room will house skilled butchers to provide shoppers with the best cuts of meat available.
“We’re looking forward to opening the first Coles superstore in South Australia, and servicing the emerging local community with this prominent new store.”
Coles Churchill Centre is located in the Churchill Centre on 400 Churchill Road, Islington. The store will be open from 6am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 6am to 5pm Saturday, and 11am to 5pm Sunday.
