Yugo and VCARB to Deliver an Unforgettable Experience for Students During the Melbourne Grand Prix

As the exclusive student housing operating partner of the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) Formula 1™ team around the world, global student housing leader Yugo is set to deliver a week of career and Grand Prix-focused events for Yugo, RMIT and other students in Australia for the first time.
Yugo has partnered with VCARB to provide students with experiences designed to connect learning with real-world opportunities in motorsport, marketing and innovation, giving students unparalleled access to industry professionals, behind-the-scenes insights and immersive fan activations. The collaboration reinforces Yugo’s commitment to redefining student living through education, community and opportunity – while fostering a passion in motorsport.
Yugo operates two student accommodation communities in Melbourne – Yugo Berkeley St and University Square - along with one in Adelaide and two in Perth with thousands of students set to benefit from the VCARB partnership over the coming week and throughout the year.
Over the coming week, Yugo students will have the chance to learn about the reality of a career in F1 – from entry into the industry to how teams operate, including short and long-term priorities, pressure and decision-making strategies, all while having a birds-eye view as the Melbourne Grand Prix unfolds.
Tonight, Yugo students are invited to attend a relaxed VCARB event on a Melbourne rooftop, where they will be able to mingle with team officials and engineering and racing focussed students, gaining firsthand insight into the precision, teamwork and technology that powers a Formula 1™ team.
At an event hosted by Yugo and VCARB tomorrow (Thursday, 5 March), students will be invited to participate in an exclusive Q&A with VCARB CEO Peter Bayer to talk about working in the industry, while discussing practice sessions, race day and how teams manage different scenarios, prior to the first race under new FIA regulations.
Yugo Senior Vice President of Operations Asia Pacific Tim Klitscher said the VCARB partnership was a chance to build industry connections for students with a genuine interest in engineering, mechanics and racing, empowering students with experiences to enrich their lives.
“It’s not often that you get to sit down and ask the CEO of a racing team how he manages to operate in a multi-billion dollar, high-pressure industry on a daily basis,” Mr Klitscher said.
“These opportunities are priceless for our students, and we appreciate having access to one of the most successful teams to ensure they have the chance to learn from experts in this field.
“In conjunction with VCARB, Yugo is able to provide activities that not only engage our students, but we’re ensuring they have more than just a home, we’re creating real industry participation opportunities to allow them to grow academically, professionally and socially.”
Across the week, Yugo students will have the opportunity to test themselves in a high-performance racing simulator, recreating real driving conditions inside one of the world’s highest-powered cars. They will also take part in driver-inspired physical challenges, including reaction time and grip strength tests, putting their skills to the test off the track.
Thanks to the partnership throughout the season, students across the world will gain unparalleled access to industry professionals, behind-the-scenes insights and immersive fan activations, reinforcing Yugo’s commitment to redefining student living through education, community and opportunity. Yugo is the first student housing brand and operator to enter this space and connect living, learning and industry opportunities.
