New technology gives Vue buyers a unique view

23 May 2014

First development in Adelaide to use augmented reality

Buyers of apartments in Adelaide’s tallest building have been able to see the landmark building ‘magically appear onsite’ long before its actually built through a new augmented reality app being used for the first time in South Australia.

The Vue on King William App allows buyers and prospective buyers to download the app (http://vue3d.com.au) and get a 360 degree interactive view of the building using their smart phone or tablet.

If they’re onsite at 411 King William Street then the App uses GPS technology to bring up a detailed image of the building in situ.  They can also walk around the site and view the building from different angles.

Buyers have been snapping up apartments at Vue on King William with 84 of the 205 apartments sold following the first week of the project launch.

Starfish Developments, Managing Director, Damon Nagel said the App has given buyers a chance to see the building up close long before it’s built.

“It also gives them a chance to view how the King William Street streetscape will look once Vue is complete, said Mr Nagel.

“To provide buyers with the confidence to buy a property off the plan it’s important to be able to bring a project to life.

“In our project marketing, we’re always looking at ways to create a richer experience for the buyer and the augmented reality app is the next step for us.

“Vue is an exciting development that will break new ground in Adelaide so the project marketing must reflect the project’s quality and innovation.

“We’ve also commissioned watercolour painting style artist’s impressions and used a drone to capture 360 degree footage of the views from every level in the 85 metre, 26-level building.”

Vue on King William is set to become Adelaide’s tallest building with breathtaking views over the city and southern parklands towards the hills and Adelaide coastline down to Hallett Cove.

The Woods Bagot designed building features a distinctive and striking twist in its all-glass exterior which ensures each level and apartment enjoys exhilarating views. Other features include a roof top garden, pool deck and fitness centre inspired by Sydney’s The Ivy.
On completion, Vue will incorporate 205 apartments with a maximum of 10 apartments on a single level – another first for Adelaide.

The apartments are predominately one and two bedroom with a single Penthouse level featuring 3 three bedroom penthouse apartments.

The apartments are priced from $320,000 with six-five per cent of the project priced below $400,000.
The tallest penthouse apartments will be priced from $1.2 million. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of the government’s stamp duty relief for city apartments which could save them up to $21,300.

Note: Vue on King William is a joint venture between Starfish Developments and the Asian Pacific Group. Work will commence onsite in July with full construction starting in September. The project is expected to create around 200 jobs during construction.
