CH4 Global to attend Australia’s premier investment event

15 November 2024

CH4 Global™ will be attending Australia’s premier investment event in Adelaide today, showcasing the work it’s undertaking to cultivate Asparagopsis seaweed to produce methane-busting feed supplements, which when fed to cattle, cut their methane emissions by up to 90 per cent.

CH4 Global, which was founded by South Australian Steve Meller, is rapidly expanding on Eyre Peninsula, with operations at Arno Bay along with a base at Lonsdale in southern Adelaide.

Work is also underway to build the world’s first EcoPark at Louth Bay on Eyre Peninsula, with phase 1 near completion.

CH4 Global, which was invited to host a stand by the Department of State Development, will be talking to investors about its operations to scale growth, from its seedling hatchery to its patented in-ground growing system and harvesting and drying technology.

The Sohn Hearts & Minds Investment Leaders Conference is an annual one-day event featuring a disruptive program where international thought leaders present alongside research scientists, fund managers pitching investment ideas and entertainers. Sohn Hearts & Minds’ HM1 invests 35 per cent of its portfolio in the highest conviction investment recommendations presented by local and global fund managers.

CH4 Global Chief Operating Officer Tim Wiliams, who will host the stand at the conference, said it was important to show investors the leaps and bounds the company was taking to cultivate Asparagopsis, increasingly at scale, to provide to beef feedlot partners in Australia and internationally.

“Feeding Methane Tamer to 100 cattle in a feedlot for 100 days eliminates the equivalent GHG emissions of approximately 45,000 kilograms of coal burned and is the equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 1,500 tree seedlings grown for 10 years,” Mr Wiliams said.

“As you can see, every cow fed Methane Tamer is making a difference to the planet and for our future, and the more farmers we can reach, the more we can start to bend the climate curve.”
