West Beach Trust appoints Elinor Walker to Board

The West Beach Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of respected planner Elinor Walker as the newest member of its Board and the reappointment of members Bruce Djite, Rebecca Abley, and Adrian Ralph.
Ms Walker is a former State Planning Commission member and SA President of the Planning Institute of Australia who has extensive experience in the public service and consulting, with a focus on growth planning.
“We look forward to welcoming Elinor to the Board and congratulate Bruce, Rebecca and Ralph on their re-appointment as we continue to advance our vision of becoming Australia’s favourite tourism, sport and leisure destination,” West Beach Trust Chair Jayne Jeffreys AM said.
“On behalf of the Board, I would also like to thank outgoing Board Member Emily Perry for her service and contribution to West Beach Parks over the past three years,” Ms Jeffreys said.
The West Beach Trust is a statutory authority created under South Australia’s West Beach Recreation Reserve Act 1987 to manage West Beach Parks and its associated sporting, accommodation and community facilities.
Ms Walker has been head of the Housing Infrastructure Planning and Development Unit since 2023 following a 25-year career in strategic, statutory and environmental planning in both the public and private sectors in South Australia and Victoria.
Mr Djite, Deputy Chair of the Board, is the South Australian executive director of the Property Council of Australia and, prior to, the CEO of the Committee for Adelaide.
Ms Abley is a Glenelg Ward Councillor for the City of Holdfast Bay and has a strong background in marketing.
Mr Ralph is General Manager City Operations at the City of Charles Sturt and a board member with the Trust for the past four years.
The West Beach Parks Precinct covers 135 hectares of beachfront land and comprises of two accommodation properties, including Discovery Parks -West Beach Parks, The Pat GC, diverse competition-level sporting facilities, meeting and events venues, a boat haven and a broad range of lessees.
