National Pharmacies unveils new flagship store in iconic North Adelaide development

National Pharmacies has opened its new flagship store at the luxury Eighty Eight O’Connell development, offering integrated pharmacy, optical, health and beauty services from one of Adelaide’s most iconic inner-city locations.

Unveiled today, the $1.6m National Pharmacies North Adelaide store, on O’Connell St, also houses the community pharmacy group’s milestone 20th Optical by National Pharmacies store.

National Pharmacies North Adelaide and Optical by National Pharmacies are key tenants of a broader health and wellness hub launching next month that includes a medical centre, radiology, and med spa services, catering to residents of the development and the wider community.

National Pharmacies CEO Mark Smith said the North Adelaide store, located several metres from its previous site, had almost doubled its health and retail footprint, enabling expanded service offerings.

“National Pharmacies North Adelaide sets a new benchmark in community healthcare as we continue to expand access to our expert pharmacy-led services in a modern, welcoming environment,” Mr Smith said.

“Designed to meet the evolving needs of our members and customers, the new store features a larger private space for immunisation services, including travel vaccinations, and health consultations, such as UTI and oral contraceptive services, and extra room for a full suite of beauty and wellness treatments,” he said.

“National Pharmacies North Adelaide and Optical by National Pharmacies North Adelaide showcase an open-plan layout with clearly defined, yet connected zones, for dispensing, health and eye consultations, and premium displays of health, beauty, and eyewear products. “As a member-based organisation that returns profits to members in the form of benefits, we are excited to be opening these two new stores in such a central and iconic site.”

Principal Pharmacist Sara Boey, who has more than 25 years’ of pharmacy experience at National Pharmacies, will be part of the North Adelaide store team, which has served the local community for 23 years in November.

National Pharmacies is a member-based organisation, where profits made through operations are returned to members in the form of benefits.
