CH4 Global has been selected as one of the THRIVE Top50 AgTech companies of 2026, an international award recognising the international companies redefining innovation across the agricultural landscape.

SVG Ventures, an international innovation platform which supports advancement in the food and agriculture industry, identifies standout businesses distinguished by the strength of their leadership, differentiated technology, market traction, and momentum in scaling each year.

The 2026 edition showcases leading AgTech innovators across multiple industry categories and reflects months of in-depth research, market analysis and evaluation conducted by the SVG Ventures and the THRIVE team.

CH4 Global founder and CEO Dr Steve Meller said recognition of the company’s efforts to innovate and create a solution which reduces methane emissions using a naturally-occurring, native seaweed was a great achievement, given the effort it has taken to create a scalable business.

“We’re using whole, dried Asparagopsis to feed to cattle, reducing their emissions by up to 90 per cent, and starting to make a difference to emissions on the farms we’re working with,” Dr Meller said.

“We’re working to grow at scale so that we can reach more cattle in wider markets, as we start to bend the climate curve, one cow at a time.”

CH4 Global opened the world’s first EcoPark at the Louth Bay on Eyre Peninsula 12 months ago. From Louth Bay, CH4 Global is growing and processing Asparagopsis to formulate Methane Tamer, which when fed to cows at just .5 per cent of their daily mix, reduces their enteric methane emissions by up to 90 per cent.

The CH4 Global EcoPark is growing and processing Asparagopsis in cultivation ponds capable of producing 80 metric tonnes of the native seaweed each year.

Beef from cattle consuming Methane Tamer is being sold in butchers and in restaurants in South Australia, with a supermarket chain to follow in the coming weeks.
