Asian Pacific Group Acquires CBD Site For Second Adelaide Project
The Asian Pacific Group has acquired a development site on King William Street for their second Adelaide project following the success of The Watson Hotel and Apartments at Walkerville.
The development site is located next door to the Origin Building (formerly Optus Centre) at 411-427 King William Street and within a growing precinct, which has seen the recent development of The Wave and Edge and the new Credit Union Centre.
Asian Pacific Group Chief Executive Officer Will Deague said we’re delighted to have acquired the King William Street site for our next Adelaide project.
“It’s location in the burgeoning southern end of the CBD, proximity to the redeveloped Riverbank Precinct, parklands and Adelaide’s major restaurant and café strips makes the site ideal for future development, said Mr Deague.
“Adelaide is really moving forward with significant investment from both the public and private sectors and the Asian Pacific Group is pleased to be able to invest further in the city.
“Coming from Melbourne, we’ve been impressed by Adelaide’s growth and in particular efforts to revitalise the CBD and add some vibrancy to city rim suburbs.
“We’ve also been impressed withthe quality of local consultants and tradespeople and are committed to using locally based firms and sub-contractors to undertake work on our Adelaide developments.
“We’re prepared to be a bit braver and bolder with this project to ensure its attractive to the local market and architecturally will stand the test of time.”
The Asian Pacific Group will start marketing the project in early 2014 subject to receiving the necessary planning approvals.
