Berry good time to ‘pick your own’ strawberries at Beerenberg
Beerenberg is preparing for the opening of the new strawberry season with the public being invited to pick their own new season strawberries direct from the Beerenberg patch from Sunday, October 27.
A South Australian tourism institution, Beerenberg has attracted strawberry pickers from around the world since 1975. Last season alone, 28,000 people picked five tonnes of strawberries from the Beerenberg patch.
Beerenberg will be hosting a special celebration at Beerenberg Farm, Hahndorf on Sunday, October 27 from 2-4pm to herald the new season. On the day, visitors to Beerenberg Farm will enjoy free access to the strawberry patch, fun family activities, free scones with Beerenberg jam baked and served by members of the South Australian Country Women’s Association’s Adelaide branch including The Great Australian Bake-off’s Monique Bowley.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see Beerenberg’s newly refurbished Farm Shop, which has been refreshed to support Beerenberg’s new look branding launched earlier this year.
“Our delicious fresh strawberries are some of the best you’ll ever taste,” said Beerenberg Marketing Manager Sally Paech. “Hunting through our patch to find the perfect strawberry is a fun and cost-effective day out for all ages.”
“We’re very excited to launch the new strawberry season, and show off our new look Farm Shop, where visitors can purchase the entire Beerenberg product range.”
