New York Style convertible apartments come to Adelaide for the first time
New York innovation is coming to Adelaide with Verde in the trendy Adelaide city fringe suburb of Kent Town becoming the first South Australian development to offer convertible space apartments.
The new ‘Trans4ma’ apartments will enable residents at Verde to transform their living space according to their lifestyle to create an extra bedroom, study or storage space in a matter of minutes by simply sliding a moveable wall unit into a new locking position. view the video here.
The sliding wall of integrated joinery with a high quality finish comprises a TV unit and bookshelves on one side while on the other is housed hanging space and drawers for the additional bedroom or study.
A full sized inner spring double bed comes down from the wall still leaving plenty of space to move around.
If the additional rooms aren’t required then the unit can be pushed into the wall to maximise the living space.
The Trans4ma will be offered as an option to all apartment buyers at Verde but are expected to appeal most to one bedroom buyers who will be able to create a second bedroom in less than two minutes. The Trans4ma is priced at $20,750.
It’s one of a number of innovations being incorporated at Verde by developers Morgan and Hansen and FA Mamac with the boutique apartment development also South Australia’s first cross laminated timber constructed residential building.
Morgan and Hansen Managing Director Andrew Morgan said the Trans4ma apartments will provide greater flexibility to buyers by making full use of the available space within each apartment.
“Residents will benefit from living in an apartment that adapts to their lifestyle and removes some of the restrictions sometimes associated with apartment living,” said Mr Morgan.
“The increased popularity of higher density living in Adelaide is leading to greater innovation by architects and developers, which ultimately leads to better development.
“We expect the Trans4ma apartment option to be extremely popular when we officially launch Verde to the market in March.”
Verde is a $27.3 million premium five storey, predominately residential development, with 51 generously proportioned apartments, 7 small home offices (soho), ground floor retail and commercial offices.
The project, designed by leading South Australian architects Proske, will provide residents with an enviable lifestyle by incorporating spacious apartments, contemporary interiors with the latest fixtures and fittings and balconies and sweeping views towards the eastern parklands.
Creating lush, green environments within the development has been a key priority so apartments feature either an internal courtyard or light-court and generous balconies to provide the residents with a quiet private space for relaxation.
A large, central private internal Piazza has been incorporated into the building design as a communal space for residents to enjoy. It will feature mature trees, lush landscaping and outdoor furniture.
Verde is located within a five minute walk of the Rundle Street shopping strip and provides easy access to the city through the eastern parklands, and a 15 minute walk to the redeveloped Riverbank precinct and Adelaide Oval.
Apartments are priced from $325,000 for a one bedroom, $435,000 a two bedroom and $730,000 for a three bedroom. The SOHO (small office home office) are priced from $420,000.
