Exelsuper announces first franchisee
Specialist self managed superannuation firm Exelsuper has appointed its first franchise owner as the company moves to expand from its Adelaide base.
Financial planner and SMSF specialist adviser Glenn Doherty has joined the Exelsuper team, and will work closely with the organisation’s head office while building a greater presence in Adelaide’s East.
Exelsuper Chief Executive Officer Chris Harris says Mr Doherty – who has more than 15 years of industry experience, including the past eight as co-owner of an Adelaide financial planning business – is a welcome addition to the firm.
“This is a major step in our growth plans and has come about following the ongoing success of Exelsuper’s SMSF specialist adviser model, which allows people to access the full range of SMSF services in the one location to set up and manage their own super fund,” said Mr Harris.
“More and more people are choosing to establish their own superannuation fund and assume greater control of their retirement savings, so we continue to grow as an organisation and are delighted to welcome Glenn as our first franchisee.
“He has vast experience in the financial planning and superannuation field, and more importantly, has a genuine passion to provide independent SMSF advice to help families, retirees and young professionals create, manage and protect wealth.
“As one of the few independent SMSF firms in Australia, Exelsuper has enjoyed excellent growth over the past three years and we are really buoyant about the future as the popularity of self managed super continues to escalate.
“We currently manage more than $350 million in funds under advice, and through sustained client growth and company acquisitions in South Australia, have established a strong foothold in the local market which augers well for our national expansion plans in the future.”
Established in 2012, Exelsuper continues to service the growing self managed superannuation fund market place, with its independent offering allowing clients to access specialist SMSF administration, advice, investment and insurance services all in one location.
