Indonesia AirAsia to fly daily between Adelaide and Bali

Bali’s popularity as Adelaide’s top international destination continues to grow, with Indonesia AirAsia today announcing it will increase its service from four times per week to daily flights from March 22.
Indonesia AirAsia has responded to the strong demand from South Australian passengers since it first touched down in Adelaide in June last year.
The airline’s daily flights to the Indonesian holiday destination will use the 180-seat A320-200 aircraft, creating more than 56,000 visitor seats per year through Adelaide Airport. The service also allows travellers to connect to AirAsia’s 130 destinations across Asia and beyond.
Adelaide Airport Executive General Manager, Corporate and General Counsel, Alicia Bickmore, said Bali continued to be Adelaide’s largest and fastest growing international destination.
“This service increase makes it easier for South Australians to travel to Bali, and to connect to Indonesia AirAsia’s formidable network throughout Southeast Asia and beyond including from Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Japan and India,” Ms Bickmore said.
“The connections via Bali are excellent and it is very cost effective to continue on to other destinations such as Jakarta, Bangkok, Phuket and even Komodo Island.
“It also makes it easier for our strong Asian market to discover South Australia via a one-stop connection through Denpasar. “Development of affordable travel is vital to the growth of our market and to achieving our ambitious network targets.”
“Increasing our Adelaide to Bali services to daily flights, and 10 per week during peak periods, reflects our strong commitment to the Australian market and to Adelaide as a key gateway onto the AirAsia network,” said Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, Acting President Director of Indonesia AirAsia.
“This added capacity provides more choice, better value and greater flexibility for South Australians looking to holiday in Bali or connect onwards through our extensive network or more than 130 destinations.”
Adelaide Airport recorded 1.17 million international passenger arrivals in 2025, a 20.7 per cent increase on the year prior.
The introduction of several international services to new destinations resulted in a 32 per cent increase in the number of international inbound seats.
There are currently 12 airlines flying to 11 destinations, with China Eastern to commence flying between Adelaide and Shanghai from mid-2026.
