First residents move into new city apartments

Ergo officially opens … just in time for Christmas!

Adelaide’s newest inner-city apartment complex Ergo is now officially open after welcoming its first residents.

Dozens of new residents have moved into their new homes following the completion of Stage 1 works and settlement of all 52 first stage release apartments.

Project partners Hindmarsh Development and the Adelaide City Council are delighted to reach the major milestone in time for Christmas.

“Moving into a brand new home is exciting enough, but to do so just in time for Christmas really has added to the excitement for buyers at Ergo,” said Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood.

“We congratulate this first group of purchasers and residents, who as early adopters of the project have embraced our vision for Ergo right from the start.

“With dozens of new residents to move in over coming weeks, it really does represent a terrific injection of life and diversity into the city, particularly for the emerging south-western corner of the CBD.”

Based on Sturt Street, Ergo is a stylish low-rise residential development providing a range of apartment types to cater for first homebuyers through to higher-end penthouse buyers.

In addition to medium and higher end apartments, Stage 1 of the development offered more specialised options for homebuyers as a result of the project’s Federal Government funding and an innovative shared equity scheme the Council developed with HomeStart.

Since being launched to the market in November last year, the response from purchasers has been exceptional, with all Stage 1 apartments sold within 12 months.

Hindmarsh Development Manager Morry Canala says construction works on Stage 2 of the project will now ramp up.

“Now that apartments in Stage 1 are complete, our efforts will turn to completing the remaining apartments that make up Stage 2,” he said.

“We’re thrilled with how the project has been received by homebuyers and we’re really happy with the progression of on-site works, which have seen a construction zone turned into a bright new residential community for people wanting to live in the city.”
