Mother's Day Remembrance tradition continues at Enfield Memorial Park
Mother’s Day is one of the biggest days of celebration and commemoration for families across the country, with hundreds of South Australians again expected to attend the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority’s annual Mother’s Day remembrance ceremony at Enfield Memorial Park today.
The service is open to all members of the community and has become a popular tradition for families to give thanks and honour mothers and motherly figures past and present.
“The Adelaide Cemeteries Authority is pleased to host such a significant community event which has now become a yearly ritual for many families,” said Robert Pitt, Chief Executive Officer of the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority.
“Many people whose mothers are no longer with us often feel a greater void. It’s important to recognise the emotions we experience, and for many people, remembering and celebrating their mother at our annual ceremony can be an uplifting or healing experience.”
In the lead-up to today’s event, the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority has created an online tribute page at www.aca.sa.gov.au where people have written special messages and posted photos of their loved one which will be shown throughout today’s ceremony.
