Buy Australian, whilst you still can
South Australian producer Beerenberg is urging Australians to support locally owned food producers by buying “Australian-made” following news today that the owner of iconic tomato sauce brand Rosella has been placed in receivership.
Beerenberg managing director, Mr Anthony Paech said “it’s a shame to see the long-established Rosella range of products at the point of extinction.
“Rosella has been part of the Australian lifestyle and culture for as long as I can remember and it would be a tragedy for the brand to suffer the same fate as so many other Australian owned companies in recent times.
“The only way to make sure this doesn’t happen to another local food producer is to encourage more Australians to buy locally made and owned products.
“Australians should make a conscious effort to buy Australian made products this Christmas to show their support for local producers. Such a small gesture will go a long way in helping many businesses’ bottom line in what has been a tough year.
“We hope Rosella gets back on its feet and that it secures a suitable new Australian owner as soon as possible”, he said.
