Offline Campers quadruples floorspace and boosts manufacturing at Lionsgate

5 June 2026

High-end, Australian-made camper trailer business Offline Campers has quadrupled its floorspace and refurbished its offices and showroom at Lionsgate, the former home of Holden, boosting manufacturing and jobs growth in Adelaide’s north.

The new Offline Campers manufacturing site, which officially opens this morning (10am Friday, 5 June) has included renovating and expanding the 1950s-era factory floor space and offices.

The South Australian, family-owned business, which began in former defence industry mechanical engineer Sam Reynolds’ back shed, will now manufacture camper trailers across more than 4,500 sqm of floorspace, being built by more than 40 employees.

Minister for State Development Chris Picton said the expansion of Offline Campers facility is a South Australian manufacturing success story.

“Offline Campers has gone from a backyard dream to a strong employer in Adelaide’s northern suburbs,” Minister Picton said.

“Based at the old Holden factory and employing former Holden workers, this company is continuing the strong manufacturing history of this site.

“It’s great to see the South Australian family-owned company backing local suppliers and products to create high quality campers that are in demand across the nation.

“The success of Offline Campers, quadrupling their floor space to keep up with demand, demonstrates the strength in the local manufacturing and innovation sector.”

Mr Reynolds said Offline Campers was going from strength to strength nationally, at a time when people were turning to local tourism and higher-end, off-road experiences.

“Offline Campers has been focussing on building the highest-quality campers, working with Australian suppliers to use locally-manufactured components such as steel and electronic fittings, aimed to withstand the harshest conditions of remote and off-grid locations,” Mr Reynolds said.

“We’ve been listening to people who want to go further offroad and off-grid to meet their specific needs, whether that be the comfort of a shower, coffee machine and queen-sized bed or better dirt and dust protection for their dirt bikes while off the beaten track,” he said.

“Because we take the time to adapt each camper to our customers’ needs, we have forward orders until 2027 and we’ve had to expand our manufacturing capabilities. That means more jobs, more money being spent in Adelaide’s north, and ultimately more people touring through

South Australia’s remote and incredibly beautiful outback.” Offline Campers is one of very few in Australia to design and manufacture locally, using the maximum amount of local components possible to build the Swiss Army Knife of camper trailers.

Each Offline Campers model has been designed to suit people of all abilities and ages, with simple assembly an important design feature to ensure equipment is easy to access.
